She relentlessly told him this so many times, that he began to accept it. Our teacher was probably one of the main reasons responsible for his poor outcome in life. She, quite literally, drilled this into his head until he completely believed it. And he evidently and eventually did. When the mind is young and so sensitive, nearly anything can be fed into it that we will believe. Especially when it is from an authoritative figure, such as a teacher or parent.
